WEEK 33: TWELVE HOURS IN A CAR, GIANT BREADS, AND McDONALDS RIP OFF

¿Como les va ustedes? Estoy tan bueno, con calor, y el Señor.
(How are you guys doing?  I am so good, with the heat and I have the Lord on my side!)

This week was a little bit worse for the numbers, but the stories are amazing.  A brief recap:  I was stuck in a car for twelve hours this last week.  I had to go do some Immigration papers in Tarijo, Bolivia, so I could LEGALLY enter the country.  My Visa had expired back in November.

Tuesday:   So I went to Tarijo and they took some of my blood.  And while I was waiting for everyone else to get done, I took a picture with a Statue of Hippocrates.

Jonathan in Tarijo with Hipocrates

Then we went to another place called "La Palacia de Justicia", or the Palace of Justice, and we signed some papers and took finger prints. Then we went to "Max Ronalds" and ate some hamburgers with all the Elders that went.

I ordered a Big Mac, which was actually pretty good.  Then we went to the Police Station for like 5 hours, and we left at 6:30 and got to Bermejo at like 8:50.

Wednesday:   Went working with Elder Ullua, and we had a baaaaaaaaad day.  We had 2 less actives that let us into their house.  The Lessons were great, but we could have done so much more with a little bit more with some help from Members, but i can't complain.

Thursday:    We went back to Tarija with Elder Evans, and we ate at a Pizza Place, and then we went to a Venta, or a little store in someones house, and we found . . .  The Mega Bread. This bread was the size of my chest, and cost only five Bolivianos (or about 70 cents).

We got back to Bermejo and then we got to work.  Elder Ullua and I printed the Branch Directory, and we found like seven Less Active Families to teach.  So now, I'm Elder Tracy, Less Active Member Bounty Hunter.

Scripture for the Week:
Ether 12:41

And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever.  Amen.

Internet is bad! Sorrry!

HIDDEN VILLAGE, ZONE CONFERENCE AND RED WATER

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Weekly Update from The One and Only, Elder Jonathan Thomas Tracy.

Elder Jonathan Tracy and Elder Ullua
This week was kind of slow.  I traveled to Tarija again.  It has been raining a lot here, so the mountain road we usually go on is now covered in rocks, and the mountain is literally falling down.  So Elder Silva and I took the chance and we took the best selfie I have ever seen!  We were on the Mountain road for like one hour and a half.
We got to the Conference, and President talked a lot about unity in the companionship.  We did a exercise where we had to talk about what missionary work is and what it isn't.  I received revelation, and I said that the missionary work is understanding and applying the Atonement in our lives.  So that was a high point of our conference.
Elder Ullua, my companion, and I also discovered a "hidden village" in our area I didn't know about.  So we climbed the mountain road and got into the Barrio Petrolero, which literally means Petroleum Neighborhood.   And we had some fun, the rivers have red water in that barrio.  I think it is because of all the mud, or maybe someone died.   I don't know!  It looked weird.

Then today, just so everyone can see me, I took a selfie with some fake glasses an investigator gave me.  So I'm a hipster now.  That was this week.  I'm having a lot of fun and working hard.

IMPORTANT NEWS REPORT:   If you send me a package to Bolivia, it can NOT weight over 2 kgs, or about 4.4 pounds.  Si Hay preguntas, Hablen con mi Mamá!  (If you have questions, talk with my mother!)

Scripture of the Day:
2 Nephi 31:19

And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done?  Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of Him who is mighty to save.

Once we choose to follow Christ, we can't not follow him.  If we stop following him, we follow Satan.  And we don't want that do we.

I invite you all to come unto Christ.  Start looking for the Elders in your Area because they would love to talk to you. You will benefit from the things they teach!
Love,
Elder Tracy

TRANSFERS AND ALL THE GOOD BERMEJANO LOVE

This week was interesting.  I don't have much time, and internet is slow.  So this is going to be short.  I got my new companion, Elder Ullua, and he is from Rosario, Argentina,
and he talks with the "sha" that the Argentines have.  And we have been working hard to get all the work done.  We contact, proselyte, and preach.  But wait, there is more.  We have a couple of new people we will be visiting in the week. And I think they will progress.

I have a cool scripture for this week.  I'm sorry for the briefness.

Internet was horrible today!

Scripture of the Week:

Alma 61:9

And now, in your epistle you have censured me, but it mattereth not; I am not angry, but do rejoice in the greatness of your heart.  I Pahoran, do not seek for power, save only to retain my judgment-seat that I may preserve the rights and the liberty of my people.  My soul standeth fast in that liberty in the which God hath made us free.

Have a good week.

TWO PICTURES THAT MOM FORGOT TO ADD TO THE 4/06/15 BLOG POST

I forgot two pictures from Elder Jonathan Thomas Tracy yesterday (4/06/15)  that should have been added to his blog.

Here are Jon's words:

"I'm good. I have lots of photos today Mom. You will be happy!
There is a bridge in my area that Connects Bolivia to Argentina. So I crossed to the Salta Mission for like 10 minutes.
I hope you like it."

BECAUSE OF HIM

This is the video that Elder Jonathan Tracy mentioned in his blog and invites all to watch about the Savior.

CONFERENCE WEEKEND SPECTACULAR

This week was the coolest week in all my Mission because it was Conference!  But we have to lead up to that.

Monday:  EMILY'S BIRTHDAY.
My companion and I stayed to make her a card that I will be sending in this Email.  I miss my Sister, I haven't seen her in 23 months because she went to serve her Mission in May of 2013 in the Santa Rosa, California Spanish Speaking Mission.  I know that we will see each other again.  And this is a small way to show her that I Love her.

Tuesday:
We went to go drink "Mate" with Hermano René Dominguéz. He put some Yerba Mate into his porro ( a wooden cup) and then you drink it with a metal straw called a "Bombilla". And you have to drink it super hot. It was good.

Thursday:
We had Zone meeting with Zona Bermejo.  Afterwards, we took a couple of pictures, which eventually ended up into this photo.  I'm the one that is on the counter top.  I just have to be different.

Friday:
We met up with my recent convert, Arnoldo in the Plaza, and he wanted to go take us out to eat, but his little Daughter, Brianna, was painting.  Soooo Arnoldo grabbed a paintbrush and told me to paint the photo for his daughter.  So I did.

Saturday and Sunday:
Conference Smack down.  Elders Beals, Woolf and I were the only three people who watched General Conference in English.  So we had our own room, with a bag of snacks, and enjoyed ten hours of pure revelation.  I especially liked the talks from the Elders Ringwood, Holland, and President Utchdorf.  I hope that everyone abides by the teachings in ALL the talks of Conference.

Scripture of the Week:
Luke 24:5-6

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen:  remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee.

Yesterday was Easter.

Christ is not in the Tomb.  He lives.  I know he does.  And now,  I invite everyone to watch the Video.  "Because of Him" or in Spanish " Gracias a que Él Vive."

This is my testimony.

See you next week!
